From You Flowers - Horrible, completely unsatisfactory, service!!

My wife called on Friday, 12/2, around noon:30 Central time (1:30 PM Eastern time) to order a funeral arrangement for a Sunday, 12/4 funeral. She was told the order had to be in by 3:00 PM in order for the delivery to be made tomorrow (Saturday, 12/3). She chose the arrangement she wanted and place her order. All was good. On Saturday, we went out shopping for a bit. We returned home around 4:00ish and found a message from FromYouFlowers on the answering machine. “Hi, this is from FromYouFlowers. Please give us a call at about your order, which is order #. So, wife calls them to find out what is going on. They told her that her order was placed too late in the day (on Friday) for delivery on Saturday, they could not deliver on Sunday (the day of the funeral) but would be happy to deliver on Monday with a note of apology, as well as give us a discount. At this point my wife gave the phone to me so I could try to straighten out this mess. I told the customer service (CS) rep that, no, the order was not placed too late. I told her that we had been told the cut-off was 3:00PM and we placed the order around 1:30 PM, which was before the cut-off. I said Monday delivery was unacceptable, since the funeral was on Sunday. The CS rep apologized profusely, but I did not want to hear apologies, I wanted a solution to deliver the flowers. I told her that since they failed on the Saturday delivery, they would deliver on Sunday. I was advised there was no florist who could deliver on Sunday. I replied that somewhere in their organization, even if it was the company Owner, there was a person with the authority to override everyone else, and that was the person I wanted to speak with. I was put on hold for a short period and when the CS returned, I was advised that they found a florist who could deliver on Sunday, and they would also give me a 30% discount on the arrangement. Since delivery on Saturday, as originally promised and expected, was now completely impossible, I reluctantly accepted the Sunday delivery. All seemed good; well, acceptable, anyway. Sunday morning, 7:49AM central time, the phone rings and I wonder, “Who is calling so early?” Guess who it was???? FromYouFlowers was calling to advise that they could not make the delivery today, as they had promised yesterday. So now, this is twice that they failed to complete one transaction. Not just screwed it up, but screwed it up TWICE. I was not nice with the CS rep on the phone, and asked “What the he*& is wrong with your company???” The CS rep again apologized, but I was not moved by the apology. I replied that the insincere, scripted, Corporate apology didn’t do a single thing to get the funeral arrangement delivered for the funeral, which was TODAY. The CS rep advised they could deliver tomorrow (Monday, the day AFTER the funeral) and include a note of apology for their failure to deliver on Sunday-but no mention was made about the first failure to deliver on Saturday. They also offered a 50% discount. I told the CS rep that was completely unacceptable, and other than someone at FromYouFlowers getting in their car today and personally driving the flowers to Cincinnati from wherever they were, there wasn’t much they could do to satisfy me. I then told them that this was the SECOND time they had failed to satisfy the customer on this one single order. I said they would deliver the arrangement on Monday, they would include their letter of apology, and they would refund me 100% of the price I paid. The CS rep put me on hold again, and when she returned, I was told they would do everything I asked: delivery Monday (2 days late), a letter of apology to the recipients, and a 100% refund of my payment. While the company did do its best to satisfy me, I cannot in good conscience say that I’m satisfied. A funeral is not a good time to start with, so any errors in this kind of order are magnified. Being retired after 32 years in retail, I understand the business, and there is absolutely no reason that they should have screwed up this order the first time, not to mention the second. I have recommended to my wife that we never again utilize this florist, and I advise everyone else to give serious thought to the failures of this company before ordering flowers from FromYouFlowers.
